Default thermostat!!!

So i put a thermostat in my car. Now shes running hot. I need to know if i can leave the thermo out permanently. ****ty job cause i have to silicone the housing etc etc. Will this damage my engine? It doesnt matter if i dont get heat etc etc. Just tired of fighting this thing and risk over heating

Something is wrong if you are overheating with a thermostat in. Flushed your radiator recently?

This wasnt my question. I realize the thermo is prolly bad. Everything under the hood is brand new and fresh.

Keep in mine i drove 250mi straight with no thermo and it stayed cooler than my old motor with a thermo in it.

Just asking if anyone has had any problems with extended run time with no thermo. Any known problems. Will it damage anything.

It'll take the engine longer to reach operating temperature which will suck up some more gas. I've read that without the restriction of the thermostat, there won't be enough water pressure built up, which can lead to localized hotspots. No personal experience running with no thermostat though, just running a lower temp thermostat on my old truck.

When you put the thermo in did you burp the air bubbles out?

What temp thermostat is it?

The thermostat is not in upside down is it?

Because it shouldnt be overheating with a thermostat in.

its running in the m to a in "normal" pretty warm. It ran fine and just took a few to get to running temp, and always stayed cool. So i'm just going to yank it out and run without it. Just something else to stick or go back and have to worry about later.
