Default 98 Cobra Engine Builder Plate???

My little plate that the builder of the engine signed is gone. I guess the adhesive finally gave way. Does anybody have a lead on how I can get a replacement? I have searched everywhere but all I can find are the stickers that the 96 and 97 Cobras had. I know in 98 they went to a metal plate. Tried calling Ford, absolutely no help there. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue as you have, and also tried everywhere to get one. I ended up getting a reproduction one from a member over on SVT Performance. He had a bunch made to sell. They are not 100% the same as the original plate, but look better than having nothing at all. Just go on there website and search for build plate. I would still like to find a original for my 01.

Awesome thanks!!! I'll definitely go do that. Like you said, it's better than nothing. It's weird that I can order an SVT Certificate of Authenticity based off of my VIN but I can't get a new plate for my engine.

Yeah it is weird that you can not get it from Ford. From my understanding they did not keep records on the engines, and there is no way for them to identify who made them.

You SVT guys worry about the silliest things. I've lost track of how many of those stupid plaques I have peeled off Covers so I can Powder Coat them.

I don't think it's silly at all. It's nice to have that personal touch from the very two man team that hand built the motor. Even ZR-1 buyers have the opportunity to go to the factory and help build the motor going into their car. They have the same plaques as our cars. It's neat and it's one of the little things that set SVTs apart from the rest. And by your logic maybe I shouldn't worry about my emblems or center-caps either if they fall off. Attention to detail and pride in owning an SVT is what I call it.

I want it because I show the car, and it is a small part of what sets the SVT's apart from the rest of the pack. You should have peeled them off carefully and sold them. There are people out there who would have bought them.
