Trac off button missing? Automatic?
I was searching around google to check if missing the trac off button in the middle of the console is normal. No results so I decided to ask you guys.
Its a 2004 Mustang GT automatic.

I've never seen that either!! Have you taken the panel off to see if there's a hook up for it? I know v6s come with that "dead switch" because of missing fog lights. Maybe someone without sense of fun removed just the switch.

I haven't removed the panel. I bought the car Tuesday so I'm waiting for the weekend to start messing with it. I was wondering if someone removed it as well. Maybe they deleted the trac off with a tune and then put that blank button in.

"(If you do not want to visit the dealer with the VIN number
its very easy.....turn the ignition on but do not start the engine and look for the ABS and TCS warning lights....if the vehicle has these options you should see them
being an 04 it more than likely has ABS as standart equipment but TCS would be an option
You can also find your self a dirt road, making sure no one is around and slam on the brakes....ABS will not allow the brakes to skid or lock up
as with TCS on the same dirt road.....put the pedal to the medal(hard acceleration)and the TCS will not allow the wheels to spin(peel out)
can be done on wet pavement but a dirt road will be easier and safer
this is provided both systems are functiong as designed )"
So I probabably don't have the traction control option. I'm thinking that I probably do have ABS though. ABS is a pretty standard feature.

ABS (including traction control) was a $730 option in 2004.
here's the Red Book data for 2004.
The easiest way to determine if you have ABS is to open the hood and look for the ABS pump/control module:
It's that aluminum block, below and inboard of the air box, next to the fan shroud--with all the hydraulic tubes coming from it...
