Removing Car Alarm

Removing Car Alarm
Well, the aftermarket car alarm I inherited in my Mustang decided it wanted to fk with me today at the car wash. It just decided it would go off and screech and yelp and immobilize my car. I was not a popular man. Anyway, we found a switch and I think by pushing it, it turned it off temporarily, but I'm not sure. I kinda see this thing as a bit of a time bomb, so I want it out - yesterday.
I climbed under the dash and found that the mouth-breathing dckhead that put the thing in did a real hatchet job. I took a bunch of pictures for reference and I'd be very grateful for any help at all. The unit is an Audiovox PRO9544UG alarm. I did a search online and could find very little about it. There's nothing in the way of installation manuals or schematics with this thing, so I'm going to have to wing it.
Here are some shots I took. I don't know what's Ford and what's not, so if you can shed some light on it, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
The black button by the hood release is the button that I think disables it, but I'm not sure.
The little black box with the red LED is a shock sensor.

That SUCKS man. I'd want that thing out ASAP as well. I think you're best bet is to find the dealership in your area that sells police cars to your local PD. They will have a tech there that specializes in equipping the cars for the department with horns, sirens, light bars, ect. Those aftermarket alarms can be ridiculous. Not saying that's the only route you can take, just my opinion.

The pic's didnt show up! I can walk you threw removing the alarm and starter kill. Hit me up with some pic's of the alarm and any relays that are under the dash. we need to remove the relay thats installed in the start wire in the igntion or when you take out the brain of the alaem it will prevent the starter from working. It is simple to remove. tools need are wire cutters, crippers some butt splices(blue and red), electrical tape and about 30mins.

Duncan, you rock!
Here are links to all the pictures I took. Let me know what I missed. It's tight under there. It looks pretty straightforward, but with electrical issues, it can be a bear since you don't know what the other person did. Thanks in advance for your help!

alright, first thing you need to do is un-tape it all pull it all out. I can see some aftermarket replys stuff down in the kick panel. pull them out. there should be 3 im guessing. 1 will be for the starter kill and 2 will be for remote lock and unlock. ford mustang uses a rev pollarity lock system. from the pics it looks like they can a hood pin aswell. They used scottch locks too. those are very bad. they loosen up quick and cause problems. I would bet that they are the cause of the problem. hit me up on my cell(757-289-4217) with pic's as you pull the box's down and ill walk you thru what need to get reconnected where. keep in mind im on the east coast so there's what 3 hr time dif.

Hey Duncan! I got it solved! A buddy of mine from work helped me take it out. Thanks so much anyway. I really appreciate it. The alarm wasn't put in very well, so it was easy to remove. Thanks for all your points. we referenced your posts as we were taking it out. He knew more than I did, so it was no biggie.

Those alarms are dangerous. It will be better to get rid of it.Those alarms are pretty powerful security measure, but sometimes they may even help to steal your car.
