Nothing really hurting if leaving OD off until you get up to speed, but not necessary to leave it off until real hwy speeds. Just turn it on 45/50 or so if your not trying to accelerate hard. OD isn't just a converter lock-up. You should feel the converter lock-up with the OD turned off even in 3rd gear under easy acceleration, the rpms will drop a few hundred as if it's going into another gear.

Dont mean to highjack but does anyone happen to know the part number and cost for that gasket? I put on my O/R H pipe not long ago and think I have an exhaust leak from the Manifold/Midpipe connection.

If you didn't install it you most likely do have a leak. Part # XR3Z-9450-AA. Got mine from rockauto, they were the cheapest. Can't remember how much but it wasn't a lot.
