99-03 Mustang GT Supercharger?
Hey guys, I'm back again and I ended up getting rid of my gorgeous '87 5.0 :-(
I'm about to be jumping into a 99-03 Mustang GT in another week or two and had a few questions. I would buy a Cobra, but they're too damned expensive around my way. So I wanted to get a few facts before I went off and did this. Does anyone have any experience with using a bolt on supercharger with a completely stock 99-03 GT? Also, will the Cobra front/rear bumper fit on the GT's body style? It's not a Cobra, but it'll sure as hell look like one XD |
There are lots of guys here with various forms of superchargers on stock motors. They respond very well to blowers.
Yes, the front/rear bumper covers fit, just know there's a lot more to the Cobra body variations than those two parts. |
Mine wasn't completely stock. The only thing it had was a catted midpipe, weld in mufflers, cai, and a 93octane tune and it put down 233rwhp and 266rwtq prior to the blower install. After the blower install it put down 339rwhp/359rwtq @5psi through a V1 S trim and my car is an auto. It was in the high 60s that night as far as the temperature goes and that was in Texas.
STOCK: heads,cam,intake, manifolds,plenum,and tb. |
Why not find the Cobra you want with a supercharger on it and have it shipped to you and I bet you will still be cheaper than S/C and a GT

Yep they respond well to a little boost. My believe is build it right before you blow it but a lot of guys bolt them on stock motors. There is always a risks but I'd try to minimize the risks.

Mine was completely stock when I got it and the car runs great with the added blower. The bumpers are a direct fit. Just make sure if you get the rear bumper shave the Cobra letters off it. |

Putting a S/C on a GT isn't as expensive(subjective) as some may think it can start to cost more when you start to going with built motors and what not to get the most out of the blower. http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...ower-cost.html http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...ower-cost.html |
