Default First Complete Engine Rebuild

Got a VERY good price on a '96 SVT Cobra 4.6L complete engine, wiring harness and all, with roughly 75K miles on it. When I pick it up I plan on doing a complete teardown and rebuild. This will be my first full engine rebuild so I'll be nose deep in just about any manual and forum post I can find, but my real dilemma is what kind of build I want to do. Personally I'm a fan of N/A, but to push it to the power levels that I want I'd have to bore the block and shave the heads which I'm scared to do if I change my mind in the future and decide I want to boost it after all. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I'll be putting it in my 2000 GT when it's done.

I'm in the process of building a N/A 4V right now. There are a couple of good books to check out.

I will caution you on assuming you can shave the heads because Ford says the 4V heads are NOT to be machined. People do it anyway I'm just warning you
If your staying N/A you could always go flat top pistons and aftermarket cams. Maybe stoker if you have good funds

Awesome. Thanks for the info, man. I've been reading up on our engines and what I've read so far says that our B heads work much better with boosted applications. I'll check out these links first. Keep me posted on you build, though.

Also, thanks for the heads up. I didn't know we weren't supposed to shave em. Valve clearance issues?
