Power seat?

Default Power seat?

My driver seat will only let me go up and down and not forward and backwards before I pull the seat from the car is there a easier fix ? Anybody kno what the problem is ?

could be loose wire/plug bad electric motor, etc.... tracing electric failures are not fun and could take minutes or hours. first off, get a test light and see if you are getting power to the motor. no power, then get a wiring diagram and trace back the positve from the motor to the source. if power, then check ground to motor. if ground is good, replace motor

best way to do this is to pull the seat right ?

I had the same problem, when I bought mine from the dealer they had to jiggle the switch back and forth several times to get it to move, I ended up just replacing the motor.

would make it easier, just 2 bolts and 2 nuts on the sliders.

btw, when youre checking for power to the motor, push the switch both ways as youre checking. one way on the switch will be positive on one wire while the other is negitive and vise versa with the switch in the other direction

the switch works when goin up and down just not forward or backwards don't that make the motor good?

there are 3 motors in my power seat, the forward and back motor could be bad
