Auto trans to a 5 speed?

RE: Auto trans to a 5 speed?
I don't know of anyone that has done this, but once you start looking into it you are going to see 1. that it is a BIG PITA 2. is going to be expensive. You are going to have to get the trans, then install cut and install the clutch, will need the computer for the 5 speed, and all the wireing harnesses that go with the 5 speed, And I am sure that I am missing a lot too.
If I was you I would rebuild your auto, and install a good shift kit and a torque convertor (with a stall of around 3200 rpm or so) You will be very happy with how your car runs after that rebuild. How many miles on your car? I have a 01 auto also and am just wondering how long it is going to last before I rebuild it and through in a 3400 stall.
BTW I love my Auto with the shift kit, I can not wait to get the gears installed in the next week or so. Then hopefully in Jan, I will be putting in the stall.

Why don't you look into a performance automatic. Nice for the strip.

My car has 44,000 miles on it and it has been slipping quite a bit lately. I think I will rebuild my tranny and put a shift kit in it. I dont know about a 3400 stall though on a mostly stock motor?
