Default Where to start?

I just saved an 02 GT with a 5spd manual from Houston before Hurricane Rita hit (sat in 14hrs of traffic to get it home too) and now im ready to start tweeking it.

I have no idea where to start....

If i was to do gears should i go 3.73 or 4.10... Im only lookin to play around on the street.???

What kind of exaust (Brands)... I like a deep sound...but not to bad at highway speeds ???

Which intake will give me the most hp???

What should i do chip wise???

I do know my way around an engine but im not sure what to put in it..... Can u guys help me out?

the gears is a personal choice.. if you do alot of freeway driving go with the 3.73's.. but if do alot of town driving then go with the 4.10's they will be more fun either way..

the exhaust.. depends on how loud you want it and if your going to through a aftermarket h or x pipe on. the magnaflow set up sounds great also alot of people are raving over the slp's lm1 and lm2.

intake.. get a demolet tuneable one for sure.. they are a abs plastic and dont get as hot as the metal ones that get to hot to touch

chip wise.. you should get a programmer, either a diablo preditor or a sct2.. either ones going to run you about 350. but this will take care of alot of different stuff you going to have to deal with down the road..

hope this helps you out

4.10 gears all the way. i do quite a bit of highway driving so i took everyone on here's advice about getting 3.73s. boy was that a mistake. i want 4.10s soooo bad, but don't want to dump $500 on another gear swap.

^^^^^ What he just said

Go with 4.10s while you're in there, they are great in-town and will not kill your highway mileage in spite of what you may hear or have heard from others.

if you look around they have combo packages with gears and a programmer, you will probably save money buying those at the same time bc you have to get your speedo recal done and you can do that with a programmer, so you dont have to pay a shop to do it for you
