My 1996 4.6L SOHC GT ran purfect, until... Took me two months to save for a new intake to replace the cracked one. Replaced no problems, checked and rechecked. was hard to start some but got fuel pressured, but run rough for a while but leveled out. ran great but delevoped a miss. Changed plugs and new motorcraft plug wires and back to great. Next am 22 degrees and refused to fire up. cranks great not firing. sprayed a small shot of ether in air filter- it wound up like an airplane engine and finally caught on. runs great after that all day. rail pressure 32 idle 42 w/press reg plugged. holds pressure for about 2 to 3 hours? when off. new filter and pump. new ECT sensor. new vapor reg relay, no vac leaks, cleaned IAC and idles great. When gets started with ether, it is barely running and you cannot give it gas or it quits, but after 20 sec or so it runs up to full idle...when running at idle fuel pressure is a stedy 32 PSI.
Had to replace water pump as it was leaking a little, replace idler arm and gear. Runs great but not fireing in colder weather. This is a 1 car family and I am out at 4:30 am with ether getting ready to take wife to work. Reading posts after post not having much luck. Its been 10 days. This can't go on so if anyone can help it would be appreciated...

Battery good? Are you certain there are no vacuum leaks? Clean the MAF?
