one problem down, on to the next. my 5spd is leaking from a black bulb near the top of the tranny next to the shifter, is this common,and how do i fix it?

That black bulb is just a rubber plug, i beleive its fuction is almost like a soft plug if pressure ever built up it would pop out to let fluid drain, for the most part alot of the cars it looks wet around them which is normal, but if u can see fluid actuall leaking down or making it to the ground just replace it, it pulls right out.
