so, you're saying $1400 is too much for a total trans rebuild and clutch replacement?

Bro, it only cost me 75.00 for a resurface.
I saw what your price for the work you were having done. I thought you were just having a clutch swap. 1400.00 is stealership prices! That's what they quoted me me locally, before I just did the clutch swap myself.
Then once I read some more and found out you're getting a rebuilt too, that not too shabby!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spec-Clutch-...d0fd28&vxp=mtr

Spec stage 1 is what I have, $251 is a little more than you were looking to pay but I've had mine in over a year now with zero complaints, seems pretty similar to stock.

I know it's a risk buying anything on Ebay, but it is possble to get great new and used name brand parts. I personally have never had any issues with anything I've bought on there. It always sounds funny to me when people say Ebay _______ like ebay is a brand. That being said, I'd try to spend the extra $$ for an upgrade if I could afford it while the tranny's out.

I'll buy the shocks and springs off ebay, but I think I'm going to get the Duralast clutch at Autozone. I love the lifetime warranty on their parts, I get free brake pads and other parts for my cars whenever needed. Just replaced an alternator for the second time on my Dodge van - no charge.

I don't know if Id be comfortable with a duralast clutch, there balljoints and tierods have a lifetime too but I seem to replace them on my truck once a year. And just cause the clutch is a lifetime warranty the labor bill dropping the trans at the garage wont be.
