Default Help With Grille Delete

I'm a bit embarassed to post this because I honestly didn't think something this simple would hold me up. Anyway, I bought the Mach 1 grille delete from AM awhile back and figured I'd make an attempt to install it since the weather is somewhat warm.

There are 4 small plastic tabs with a phillips head screw in the center along the top of the stock grille that hold it in place. I tried to unscrew them, but they just spin. Are they supposed to be pried out or what? I broke one of them and figured I'd ask before I break more. How do they come off?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question (I know it is). Thanks for the help.

Hi. I have installed the kit on my car.The phillips screws may have to be pried out. You can try using a small flat tip screw driver to prie them out.All of the plastic screws used to save money dry out and crack. So just look to replace them, after you remove most of them. Not sure which kit you have, so sorry i cannot be more helpful.

I was able to pry one out, which broke. I figured I might have to replace them since the car is a bit older. I have the kit with the floating emblem, not the Cobra though.

Thanks for the help.

Unscrew them while prying up under the edge of the phillips head with a small screwdriver.

The install is actually kind of a pain for something so simple though.

Those things are a pain... It's a plastic clip that goes in loose then holds tight when you screw the little plastic screw into it, but a lot of times that screw doesn't want to unscrew. Like SKAR said; pry around the little plastic screw, not the whole clip, while unscrewing it. If you pry from outside the whole clip you're going to break every one of them. Once you get the little screw out of the clip then the clip will slide right out. If you can't get anything between the screw and the clip to pry, maybe try getting a trim tool or something around the clip and get it to squeeze the screw a little tighter so it will grab. Kind of hard to explain it all through text and they're a pain to deal with when they don't want to cooperate, but hopefully you get what I'm saying.
