as far as the design, they are the same. I think the only difference is that the 03 heads may have more spark plug threads than the earlier heads.

Sparkplug blowouts are no fun, trust me.

Yup, I agree with 03greyGT above. No difference in heads, except possibly more thread engagement for plugs. If you have both sets of heads you can check that and see. Get a PP done on the heads before installing them!!!

PP = Have the heads ported and polished. Its usually done at a machine shop to get the max performance out of the heads. It cost more to have done though. Whatever set you go with, I would atleast have a machine shop clean them up and checked.
As far as which set?.......As these guys said, check to see if the 03 heads have longer spark plug threads than the 01s. If so, I'd definately go with them. If not, I'd probably go the the Bullit set just to tell people it has Bullit heads on it (even though they're the same as regular PI heads..........).

Btw, I'd also check the part numbers on the cams just to see if they are the same.
I picked up a pair of PI heads a couple of weeks ago. I pulled them off an 01 Police Inteceptor. While there is no difference in the heads/cams from any other PI motor, its just fun telling the guys at work I'll be putting on Police Interceptor heads...........LOL!!!!!!!!!.

Just a heads up (in case you didn't already know, I didn't) but don't get the cam caps mixed up. They are machined from the factory with that particular head.

If I could afford them, I'd go with Comps XE262AH cams.........But mines a daily driver.

I like my HiTech stageII cams. I feel confident that PP on my heads would get me to the 300rwhp mark.
