Default bad 99 cobra track times. why?

I've had my 99 cobra conv. for about 1 1/2 months now and finally got around to taking her to the track last night. The only thing done to it when I bought it was flowmaster mufflers. Here are my times:

60' 2.623
1/4 15.115
mph 95.60

60' 2.595
1/4 15.279
mph 94.73

60' 2.453
1/4 14.966
mph 95.33

60' 2.426
1/4 15.024
mph 95.49

I had never lauched the car in 1st until last night at the track, so as I got the hang of it my 60' times dropped each time. I was dropping between 2000 & 2500 (2500 hopped too much).

Are these bad times due to bad launches, or is it possible I don't have the 99 "fix" recall done that's robbing me of some horsepower? Is there a way to find out if the recall has been done without calling the dealership?

those 60ft times are are real bad... you really need some tires!!! o yeah and dont launched so high. try going from idle or a little higher. If you think about it if you knock down your 60ft time about to a 1.9 that .6 tenths of a second faster considering you ran a 13.9 should be a low 13

every tenth off your 60ft is like 2 tenths off your 1/4......get that straight, and you'll see high 13's...plus you are driving a tank down the track

im gonna say what everyone else in the world would say... learn how to launch. get use to the car more and launch lower and you'll see mid to high 13's. you should atleast be pulling a 2.0 - 2.1. but i'd get some good dr's and you'll be consistent 13.7s.

i dont know where that one guy got you running a13.9 at, but okay??

yea, your 60's are killing you, i assume as long as you arent shifting like a one armed person, youre gains are gonna come from here

and assuming you are on stock tires, you should just leave your pressure wheere it was.

i would sugest launching from a higher rpm next time,

i mean, this is agains what everyone else says but figure, you launched low each time, and you never got better than a 2.4
so next time launch at nearly 4K and see what happens,

i know my times were horrible, i was pulling constant 2.4's trying to feather, but the ONE time i dumped around 4K i was able to cut that lousy et fro ma 14.9 with a 2.4 to a 14.5 with a 2.2

either way, have fun, and get some more power on thta bad boy.. good luck, later

its just a thought, i mean, feathering out low didnt work, why not try something different

i didnt guarantee [8D]

besides, maybe he'll do something different while intending to dump at 4K and he'll do whatever he accidently does right? [>:]

Yep, like everyone says get the 60's down... everyone thinks they are a good driver until they goto the track then think somethings wrong with their car. Nothing on you... it just happends thats the way it works.
