Tranny swap question

look in post 10, its the two bolts in the bell housing of trans, behind the oil pan;

Ya i found those i just thought they were plugs not bolts.....i was hoping there was another access....but thanks those attachments did help

those converter bolts are a pain, just make the converter is seated on the input shaft of the trans properly. You will know if its not upon start up. engine wont even turn over. an easy way to tell if its seated when bolting the trans to motor, there will be a small gap between the flex plate and converter.

I am still trying to get the transmission out......do i have to take the converter bolts out before i drop the transmission or can i drop the transmission and then take the bolts out?

I also just read somewhere that i have to turn them clockwise to loosen them......im about to just pay someone to do it im going crazy

you can leave the converter on the flex plate but the trans will have to slip back from the engine for the input shaft to slide out of the converter. prepare for big trans fluid mess cleanup. converter studs should be easy to get to now. I forgot to mention, remove all spark plugs so you can rotate engine to be able to remove converter bolts.
the converter nuts spin off like a standard nut, counterclockwise.
