Default Inconsistent clutch pedal pressure

Hi all, ive run into a problem. Last summer i installed a new Ceneterforce Dual Friction in the stang and since then the clutch pedal has become increasingly inconsistent. Sometimes it is light and as smooth as butter, like it should be. Most of the time it is so hard to push my mom cant even drive it. Ive tried to find the common denominator for when it is easy to push (Temperature, speed, raining, etc....). So far there is no pattern. It is so inconsistent as to when it does it, it may change 2 times while im running through to gears to get up to speed. I also have a steeda clutch cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster. I dont know if that has anything to do with it. I know the Throwout Bearing retainer is well greased with high temperature grease as well as the pin the clutch fork attaches to. Im lost. Does anybody have any answers?

PS: when i installed the clutch i installed new a Ford racing clutch fork, pivot ball, as well as pilot and throwout bearings and had the flywheel turned.

Is it the factory cable and quadrant? The symptoms you describe could be the factory quadrant flexing as its plastic and usually doesn't like aftermarket clutches, also could be the cable hung up on something if u do have an aftermarket firewall adjuster and quadrant thats not lined up correctly. I recommend getting a triple hook quadrant from UPR, a firewall adjuster, and modify the factory cable to work with them.

yeah it is really confusing because it has all the same symptoms as a stock quadrant going bad.....there is only one problem. Like i said earlier it has a steeda quadrant (double hook), steeda cable and steeda firewall adjuster. I crawled up under and felt to see if the quadrant was loose and it did wiggle back and forth a little. I think i may crawl up under it in the morning and take the quadrant off and put another one on that i have and see if it makes a difference.

Have you inspected the entire cable for damage, kinks where it might get stuck, and both ends to make sure nothing is fraying? Bad cables can make a clutch feel quite heavy.

I tried to run a stock cable but it wasnt long enough. There doesnt appear to be any fraying in the cable and it still moves freely when nothing is attached to it but the quadrant does wobble a bit. im wondering if it is getting out of alignment when i press the pedal sometimes.

OK, then a few more thoughts. If you can get under the dash to look up at the quadrant, make sure that the quadrant is positioned so that the cable hits it in the center of the groove. If the quadrant is off-center in relation to the cable, then the cable might be grinding against the side of the quadrant trying to find the groove. Washers are used to correctly position the quadrant.
Also, if you get the quadrant out, take a look and ensure there are no sharp edges that could cut into the cable during operation. Some of the quadrants have sharp edges that will wear the cable. But if you've inspected the cable and it's not damaged, then I'm guessing that this is not your issue.
Also, make sure the cable is routed through the engine bay with as large an arc as possible. The sharper a bend it has to make, the more resistance there will be. Sometimes folks route the cable differently from the stock setup, accidentally, and then higher clutch pedal force is the result.
