So I let the car go to sleep and then ran a draw test. It was showing 4.8 volt draw. I unplugged the 20amp fuse in the engine bay and it dropped to 157mA. I then plugged the fuse back in and jumped back to 4.9 volts. I then disconnected the clip on the alternator and it again dropped down to 157mA. I didn't pull the 20amp fuse this time, just the alternator plug but when I plugged it back in the draw didn't jump back up. It stayed at 157mA. So is the alternator having to "go to sleep" before it starts pulling alot of draw? I figured it would start pulling as soon as I turned off the car. So I think I'm gonna get a new alternator and see what happens. Any ideas on anything else it could be? Thanks.

You mean amps right? Volts is just pressure. Amps is current/volume.

No. The ’sleep’ you are referring to is the PCM in the car going to sleep like your computer/laptop does after a period of inactivity.

I think that may be a little premature. You still haven’t determined what the draw is. It sounds to me like you have a loose/damaged wire or connector between the alternator and battery. By disconnecting it, you wiggled the loose/damaged wire enough to stop the draw. Hook up your meter again and wiggle the cables around and see if the draw comes back. If it does then you have a bad cable/connector. Good luck...
