Default Sparkplug removal - fuel rails?

I was going to change my sparkplugs yesterday but stopped when I saw where the fuel rails were over some of the boots. I have read on this forum that others have been able to get out the plugs and put new ones in without having to remove the fuel rail but were they able to get a torque wrench over the hole sufficiently to set them to the correct torque level? It looks like I will need an extension with a pivot to do it correctly - can anyone shed light on this either way? Here is a picture of what I am talking about... Thanks!

no, you don't need to pull the fuel rails. you can do the job with just an extension

just be sure and start the spark plug without teh ratchet. In other words, put the plug into the 5/8 socket and just hold the extension with teh ratchet off by hand and twist it gently with your hand so you can avoild cross threading it.

They should be torqued to 13 ft. lbs. as well.

I never removed the fuel rails on my GT. Doing plugs in the Lightning was a joke. Fuel Rail, power steering tank, vacuum lines, all have to come off.

I always torqued mine to German specs. Guudentite

Make sure you get a REEEEEEEALLLLY long extension. That back plug, on the passenger side is a beeotch to get out if the extension isn't long enough! My extension ended up being paralel to the fuel rail so it was a fight to say the least! Next time I'll have a freaking 1ft extension to the say the least, lol! Instead of 2 hours I'll be done in 30 minutes!

I just went with the Motorcraft ones after extensive reading on this and other sites - seems they work best unless you have FI
