This is how I (don't) roll
How's it going? I bought my first mustang Saturday, an 01' GT. It needs some work but it'll be fun!
If I'm sitting at a stop, even on a small grade, and let off the brake, the car doesn't roll at all. It happens in neutral or of the clutch pedal is depressed. Hill starts aren't a problem for me!
I'm guessing the parking break made be needing some adjustment.
Any ideas? Thanks!

New edges are notorious for the front soft break lines to collapse on themselves and locking up the breaks.
Start there. I've worked on 4 new edges with that problem including my 03.
Calipers could be locked up as well because of so much wear so I'd replace them as well. I used it as an opportunity to upgrade to Cobra breaks.

Most of the newer mustangs have a sensor that stops hill roll back. Keeps the brakes on for 2 seconds after taking your foot off. Not sure if they had that in 01 though. Was slightly confused on what your asking so I may be off topic here.

Yeah I was surprised the first time I stopped on a hill and did not roll back at all. Then one day I was thumbing though the manual and noticed it has a sensor for that. It only works at a certain angle though whatever that may be.

More bad info from S197 owners. Why do you guys even come into this section? All you do is confuse owners of the SN95 generation with all your assumptions that the 2 generations share anything except that they are Mustangs
Doc I'm not saying it is just you it just seems lately most of the bad info getting posted in this section is coming from S197 owners.
I know get mad and call me names now
OP another problem on the rear brakes is the slides seize up from lack of lubrication and moisture
