Default sloppy rearend

I passed somebody today and hit a new section of pavement. It felt like the rearend was swaying almost like on ice. Is this normal for an 02 GT? If not am I looking at rear control arms?

New pavement can be slick. How fast were you going, are your tires low on tread?

What were the conditions? Wet? Dry? Cold I assume, could have been an ice patch, or you should just slow down as our cars are light in the backside anyway.

But seriously folks. Maybe since you were passing you had some lleft direction momentum in play at the time you hit the new surface which may have been slightly elevated from the older surface? That would cause the car to bounce up getting light, coupled with the possibly slicker nature of the new pavement causing the back end to slide a little leftward. Just a thought. Have you noticed any other symptoms?
