Default Strange noise in clutch when taking off

I recently got a '98 GT Convertible, and I've noticed that about 85% percent of the time when I take off there is this noise that kind of sounds like a creaky door through an amplifier. It happens in 1st, reverse, and sometimes in 2nd. It seems to be dependent on how you take off, but I'm not sure what I'm doing differently when it doesn't make that noise. I'm not sure of all the particulars of all the mods that have been done, but the previous owner said it was a Stage 4 clutch if that helps. Any advice as to where to start with this would be appreciated because it's fairly loud and quite embarassing lol.

Where does the noise seem to be coming from?
Do you feel anything in the pedal or the shifter when it does this?
Does it seem to happen mostly when you push the pedal down, while you are holding the pedal down, while you are releasing the pedal, or while there is no pressure on the pedal?
Does the clutch and/or tranny feel like they are slipping or grabby?

Mostly in 1st gear when you're releasing it to take off. It's not slipping at all. It's happening when I let the clutch out enough to start moving the car, mainly in 1st and reverse. Like I said, it's a stage 4 and very stiff, and comes out at the very top, which I'm not used to yet and don't know for sure how they are supposed to act

What is done to your car that would require a stage 4 clutch? If your car is not a bad *** mega HP/TQ car I'm going to say you probably have the wrong type of clutch in your car.

Bear in mind, my husband and I didn't do this....we got it this way from the previous owner. Stroker kit, long tube headers, 78mm throttle body, cold air intake, straight pipes, ported/polished heads, bigger fuel injectors, cam....have a list, but it's saved on husband's computer and don't have it in front of me at the moment.

I am having the same issue it was 75% of the time but now that I am used to this super stuff clutch its 20% or none of the time. It sounds exactly what you said.

also have you noticed when you have the clutch pushed in and take a hard turn, the centrifugal force knocks the clutch plate around in the housing and it sounds clanky ?

Are you talking about the springs in the clutch pad? Forgive me if that sounds like a dumb question, but my husband and I know quite a bit, but not everything lol

Ok, so that makes it sound almost like it's the way we were driving it then. I havent noticed the hard turn/centrifugal force issue.
