trick flow 44cc heads on stock gt
I know the ideal heads would be the 38cc but I changed my build plans and I am keeping my 2004 GT N/A. Since I already have the 44cc heads I was planning on forging the internals and using a different piston to bump the compression up. My engine builder is really busy and backed up he wouldn't be able to fit me in for at least a couple months he said. Since I have the heads and cams just sitting here and I am getting a little impatient. How bad would it be if I just put them on the stock short block? Would my compression ratio still be decent and would I take a big hit in power? The 44cc are pretty similar to stock heads, would I even notice the difference? Anyone running a setup like this or have any suggestions?

Your stock PI heads have 44cc combustion chambers. You will certainly notice a difference in power since they will flow better than stock. However if you are getting a forged shortblock in a couple months I would just wait. No sense in spending the money for gaskets, bolts, etc twice. Not to mention the labor involved.

Hey boss, quick question. I'm wondering if I should get my factory heads port and polished or go with after market? If I stick with factory, to what extent should I port and polish? Please excuse my ignorance, I'm a dreamer. Much respect. This set up will be in use for awhile, I'm a baller on a budget. Thanks for your time and input.
