The start of a million electrical questions. mach 460 first
Ok guys, i'm no electrician. I can't read the cliffy style diagrams i've searched on here when looking up these questions. (no offense cliffy, i'm not on your level yet.) So I'm looking to bypass the mach 460 system completely. I Just was my new kenwood DDX719 head unit, to push 2 front and rear kenwood components with an JL Audio 600/4 amp. I felt this would be easier than i'm making it out to be. So i'm seeing there is an adapter harness for the head unit, however I don't want to use the in car amps, I have three. I have my own. Can someone break this down in the dumbest, easiest, hahaha lamen terms. I have instructions and stuff to look at, but i'm not sure how to hook the head unit up. I realize going to and from amp/crossovers. But i'm stumped with the unit. I appreciate the help. I apologize for posting ANOTHER 460 question, but its just not working for me from what i've seen. sorry guys.
I guess to better narrow my question. I don't think I need adapter if bypassing. So by not using adapter, I need to know which wires to tie into the head unit's harness. They are label, but they are not in the car.

You could just skip the whole harness altogether and totally rewire the stereo system. For the most basic splicing, all you would need to tap would be the main power, the always on power, and the ground (not sure about these cars, but usually red, yellow, and black in that order). You could use the amp-on wire (usually blue) and just disconnect it in back where it goes to the stock amps, and could do this with the speaker wires too, but if you do that you might as well just use an adapter instead of doing all that splicing up front.
