First GT, getting a few little mods already.
I never really liked the new edge cars until I started dating my wife. She had an 02 v6. Over time I grew to like them and then eventually decided I wanted a new edge manual GT as a daily driver. I just recently purchased a black 01 with tan interior. It has a cai, a catback and a short throw shifter. I knew the car had been in a couple front end wrecks; once in 01 and then again in 08. The front bumper and hood are aftermarket but the inner fenderwells are nice and straight. The metal crash bumper has 2 scratches on it but is otherwise as delivered. In short, it doesn't look like the front of the car has had to be straightened. The styrofoam is missing from inside the front bumper though. One thing which is troubling is that it has a decent amount of negative camber. I'm hoping it was previously owned by someone who autocrossed it. The other scenario would be that the front end was tweaked in a wreck. It has 2012 v6 wheels on it with their respective 28" tall tires as well. The ac compressor kicks on but it doesn't blow cold air. This will have to be fixed in a few months. The third brake light didn't work because someone put the wrong bulbs in it. The dome light was missing its center bulb as well. On day 2 of owning it, code po340 popped up which looks to be the alternator making the cam position sensor mess up. I ordered a PA Performance alternator to fix this. I knew the car had been sitting for a little over a year and knew the tires were getting little dry rot cracks in them. Upon closer inspection two of the tires were much worse than I thought. They have some of the tread blocks starting to separate from the tire. So, back to American Muscle and I ordered anthracite 10th anniversary cobra wheels in 17x9 all around with nt555 275/40s. IMO these look amazing on a black car and I didn't really like the 12' wheels offset. I have an old F150 and a 77 TA I'm slowly restoring so mods will come very slow to this Mustang. I plan to keep it simple. I've already installed a grille delete and mach 1 chin spoiler. Plans inclue 03/04 cobra seat foam and vinyl upholstery from TMI, lower it about 1-1.5 inches, bump steer kit, cc plates and different struts/shocks. I might also get that ssbc short stop rotor and brake pad kit for the front and rear. It is a good price for a decent little upgrade. I do some detailing on the side and look forward to keeping this black paint up. I'll be posting a few pictures once I get it clean and put the new wheels on.

Looks really good. As for the dome light bulb missing I had the same thing when I bought mine. The previous owner had removed it due to every once in a while the dome light gets stuck on. Your car may have the same problem.

The therrmostat stuck open on the way home from work last night. It was below freezing and after my 10 mile drive the engine was maybe 70 degrees. This is a good excuse to do a coolant flush I guess. It needs it really bad. I'm glad it will be in the 60s here tomorrow. My alternator and 10th anniversary wheels should be in this coming week! The current tires are so dry rotted I haven't had a chance to really drive it yet. I've just poked through town to work and back.

Congratulations on getting a great car. Have fun giving it some lovin'! As you get closer to adding some mods, the guys and gals here can help out big time. The suspension is equally complicated as it is simple, just takes time studying and asking questions. After that's done, the hardest part of the whole thing is finding the right shop to align it properly with the C/C plates and bumpsteer kits. I always recommend everyone reach out to their best local Mustang shop. They will be a true asset when it comes to dyno tunes and suspension work. Have fun!!
