I want to get an idea of how strait pipes after the stock h would sound i cant tell over my pc speakers so I thought I would just unhook it just after the cats. Well no luck it seems to not want to come apart even after its unbolted so I might just cut it off and if it sounds like crap then I will weld in something later

its not that loud. I mean. It IS loud but its a muffled loud if you have a factory H pipe. I had the Straight thru magnaflow mufflers dumped on my 97. I'd rather have my current set up.

It doesn't sound bad. I've got the stock mid pipe and a 2 1/2" straight cat back and I've had a lot of people tell me it sounds good. Been running it that way for years. Its not raspy but it pops a lot. Definitely sounds better at lower RPMs. Its actually pretty mellow until your stomp on it. I'm planning on installing an o/r H and some super 44s soon though.

Thanks for the help can you buy the flange that the mid pipe and the rest of the exhaust connects to. I am going to build my own but looking to make it bolt on
