mother nature will thank you if ya sell the mustang and buy a skateboard.

True, but that's impractical. Buying a catted x pipe is practical!

10K dollar fine in Florida for removing a factory cat without replaceing it.... A lot of shops won't do it. Mine told me "If a cop asks you, you did it! If a friend asks, I helped ya out"
Here in IL, no shop is allowed to remove a proper working cat. Not even if your replacing them with others. As long as they are working, they wont touch your car. Sounds stupid if you ask me especially if your putting cats on with a different midpipe. I really dont get it . The fines around here start at 10k as well if running without cats.

Wow sprostang
I live in IL also (Tinley Park). When I brought my car in to the dealership to get long tubes they told me not to get cats and if I got caught to say that I just bought the car like that. I ended up not getting them but didn't like the exaust I put on so I changed from a prochamber with mac exaust (too loud) to a catted H and Steeda cat-back and got just as good or better performance. (believe it or not).

That surprises the s*** out of me! Especially with a dealer. When I got my midpipe changed I made numerous phone calls and no one would do it. Then I found a performance shop nearby, explained the situation and they said they dont know anything about the law (little cover up) and said $70 and your done. Done in 1 hour. Made me happy. I suggest to stay away from muffler shops, they seem to play by the rules.
