catalytic convetrters, need em?

Default catalytic convetrters, need em?

i am wanting to put on longtube bbk's with midpipe and mufflers, would i need to buy new cats or can i just completely leave them off? thanks

You can get a midpipe that has cats for longtubes. Its still hard to pass emissions with those even. Depends on whether or not where you live cares about emissions. To answer your question though yes you can leave em out. You need a tuner or MIL eliminators to get rid of the Check Engine Light.

If you need to pass emissions then yes you do need them. If you don't then no you do not need them.

You do need them. Buy an aftermarket x or h pipe that has them. Mother Nature thanks you in advance.

to answer the original question, the car does not need cats to run properly, providing you have the MIL eliminators on the rear 02 sensors or a tuner to turn them off.

Mother nature or your local government might care.....depends on your local rules for emissions, etc.

I think its 2000 dollars fine for not having cat in GA, but that never stopped nobody before!!!

10K dollar fine in Florida for removing a factory cat without replaceing it.... A lot of shops won't do it. Mine told me "If a cop asks you, you did it! If a friend asks, I helped ya out"

my shop won't remove a cat but if a car shows up with out cats they will "patch" the exhaust leak.
