Drove it tonight, Perfect as expected. Somehow people think that ten links of a chain can somehow become 12 without reason, but reality owns fantasy and it's simple as that. Set it and forget it. Couldn't be more happy with it.

On a side note I had to get intake and valve cover gaskets from Oreily's since they were wrong in the kit, but otherwise it was the smoothest assembly I've done.

Win.

Congrats. You took and needless risk and got lucky. Enjoy the car.

No I did it intelligently instead of under the only way 95% of people doing can manage to pull it off and got exactly what I set out for. Sorry if it upsets you to only be able to do it with crutches.

Do you know how stupid that sounds? Intelligently is by the book, where you can 100% confirm that you have it set correct. I get it, you want to be special, you want to be different, that's cool with me. I want to be mainstream and know that it's done right the first time. I could see your point if the "crutch" way took more time or effort to pull off, but it doesn't. The way I see it, you tried to do it by the book and screwed it up and were too lazy to fix it.

Last post because I'm through with the car. As you can all see I said it could be done intelligently without idiot marks by preloading the chain as anyone with a brain would do and putting it where it should be. The end result........ speaks for itself.

No idiot marks, just common sense, and one fantastically fresh engine.

/Done and /Win. (and since your posts have been useless, ignore list for you). Yaay.....

Doublevision.

Congrats......

BUT...... This is a public forum, and as such, there are guys Who are just getting their feet wet with mechanical work, Or Guys like myself , who are new to Fords (Ive spent the last 15 years in a Chrysler dealership) and just simply arent familiar with the way Ford did stuff. Either way, is This the message that you want to send to The younger guys who are just starting out???? People search these threads for reliable information. Think about the first time you were faced with a broken something and didnt know where to turn....

Yes you are 100% right..... service Info was written for MORONS... but if the Morons, and the Elite Technicians all followed it, there would NEVER be a Blown up Cylinder head after a rebuild.
