Radiator cap may not be relieving pressure.

Im interested in where that restrictor is in the line. I think it should be up close to the intake.

This is what i could never get a straight answer about. Most people say it should be on the firewall side of the hose- ford doesnt seem to have any damn clue about WHERE it is, as long as its in there, and some people say it should be close to the intake side.

All i know is that when it blew out, it was close to the firewall side.

If it is supposed to be on the intake manifold side, it would really confuse me, because when the hose blew out, it would have shot that restrictor out, because it was about a 4 inch gash in the radiator hose..

Anyway, i ended up dropping it off at my ford dealership- Theyre going to charge me 100 to take it in, do a diagnostic check, check the block, compression check, pressure check the radiator cooling system, and report back what they found... With any luck it is something simple and stupid- as dumb as it would make me feel.

ill report back when i find out.

Unfortunately the Buena Park PD takes all their squad cars to this dealership for maintenence, and it just so happens that theyve got about 50 in there right now for oil changes and tire rotations, so it wouldnt be done until late tomorrow or friday.

so i sit here, stressed out worring about what it could be...

The lower hose will/can flatten if it is weak and has no inner spring to keep it in shape.

Hope Ford locates the issue...hate things like this.

Well, ford had no luck

They couldnt figure out what was wrong with it..

They did a block test, and it passed.

did a pressure test on the cooling system and it passed.

They replaced the radiator cap.

Yet when i rev up the engine, the heater inlet hose gets hard as a rock.

I dont know what to do. Im at a loss.

yes check to see if you have a cracked manifold where the inlet tube goes into the manifold
