okay i'm kind of pressed for time right now im just going to copy and paste what i wrote on yahoo answers. if this is the wrong sections my apologies.

Okay so here's the info. I drive a 2000 Ford Mustang GT 5-SPD, has 118k on it. About four months ago I noticed that when I turn my wheel to the left at a stop of going slow speeds you hear a screeching squeaky (mostly a squeaking sound) noise coming from the front drivers side wheel. This only started to occur after one day i made a hard left turn from a stop going a little too fast. I can also sometimes hear it when I go over bumps. Anyway, i'm not exactly quite sure what the issue is, ball joint, tie rod, etc. The springs and struts are new so I really don't think they would be the problem. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction or has had this problem so I can figure out if it's manageable to do in my garage or if i'll have to take it to the shop. Thanks in advance to anyone who contributes.

It sounds like the ball joint! It's a pretty common thing. Take off your wheel and take a look for the rubber boot (if its even left). You can try to spray WD40 IN the rubber boot and if the sound goes away then that is it. The wd40 will only last for a little until the water washes it out. Im not recommending to use the wd40 to fix it; its meant just to test that its the ball joint.

I would do exactly what stauber32 said with the wd40 to find the squeak. I had the same problem except when I took my wheel and everything off the ball joint fell right out and that was were my squeaking came from.

Edit if that isn't it you can also spray the wd40 on your bushings as well to see if it may be them as well.

Another possibility is a bad wheel bearing, especially since you hear it mostly when making turns. Good luck...

Same thing with my 98. It sounds like brakes grinding. Put it up on the lift and yea I needed pads and disks....back on the road....noise was still there. Noticed I heard it more when Turning left. WTF? Figured backing plate? Nope. My guy said bring it in maybe ball joints. I'm glad you posted this. next check is ball joints.

It seriously sounds like a wheel hub bearing is going bad or already bad.

Did you check the rotors? Maybe a stuck piston?

I also have a noise at the rear right wheel. It doesn't make a sound when I'm driving alone, only when I have a passenger in the rear seat.
