Default Fuel Injector Question?

Hey there guys I have a 04 gt that I'm currently have a few problems with and I'm trying to track it down. But my question on the fuel injectors is I had the pink top ones 21 lbs/h and during taking them out one of the tips broke off the brown tip that goes into the block. Well I bought a used pair off of a buddy but there the yellow tops at 19 lbs/h. Would I have to get a tune for the smaller ones or if I swapped them out wouldn't the computer relearn the a/f? Or would I have to get my MAF re-calibrated to the new injectors I'm kinda confused about all this but my gt is running funny and this is what I think may be causing my problems any advice would be appreciated guys.

GT, I just swapped from a set of the orange 19's to the pink 21's, this is on a 2002. The car runs fine with the 21's. From what I understand Ford changed to the 21's in 2002 to give the car a little more fueling capability at WOT but its been claimed that they didn't change the ECM calibration when they did this.

Further evidence of this is that Ford now supplies the 21's as the standard replacement part for all 99-2004's so it appears you can swap between them with no problems.

But I definitely wouldn't mix and match them, go all 21's or all 19's.

I've never popped one off but I think that tip on the end is replaceable. If can find a guy locally to clean them I'd get that done and they can probably replace that tip for you.

+1 on that. either use the 19 lbs or 21 lb. don't try to mixed them.

This is just asking for trouble, stick with the 21# injectors or calibrate the ecm for the 19# injectors. You are basing the ecm calibration on a claim, not fact. And yes the 21# injectors are 99-04 replacement, doesn't mean a ecm flash isn't required too. Do it right the first time.
