This may have been said but the deck height on a 5.4 is different than on a 4.6 due to the longer stroke. This makes the engine wider in the engine bay which is already pretty tight with the 4.6 4V. The swap has been done before so I would check around to see what kind of headers guys are running. I would also look for a tubular k-member to give you some more room.

You're also gonna need a new hood if you go for the positive displacement style blower since it won't fit under the stock mustang hood with the 5.4. A pro-charger might be easier.

Heres a pic i thought looked neat bonfire in tails and moon in window.

yes have changed my mind due to cost and what i want with the car i want a good strip car but also to be DD without killing MPG.

going to build the 5.4L ground up crank pistons etc etc i am going to work with the 5.4L SOHC heads i have get them flowed get valves cams etc etc. and then slap an Eaton M112 my buddy has and will sell me cheaper *came off an 01 Lightning* he has all the stuff minus 2 injectors.

this is going to be a LONG build i think i may start taking the pistons out/crank out and the cams and valves out of the heads *any value in stock crank pistons cams valves to sell??*

Thanks for all the comments and yes i know the 5.4 is taller may have to get a diff hood.

Going 5.4 SOHC supporting COP/plugs injectors etc etc and the M112 on top looking for about 8-12 nothing crazy that is why i am going with the M112. looking for 400-600HP range i think that build should do it and not break the bank.

Also here is a fully built 5.4L in a 5,500lbs 4x4 F150 with a whipple.

i know the M112 is not a 3.4L whipple by any means but still i think what i posted will be pretty quick

Well after the CEL thread got me thinking. what am i going to run for COP and plugs in a blown 5.4? Denso plugs i almost am positive.

now for COP are the ACCEL's or MSD's worth it and or do anything to help over FoMoCo in a build like this?

Honestly man you would be better going with a 4.6 4v over a 5.4 2v. Better platform, better power, and easier to do.

Yeah its pretty fun.

and changed my mind again.

think i may just throw a blower on it.

That being said who has the best kit?

Vortech,Paxton or Procharger?

not looking for much just 8-10psi so i can still daily drive it and not blow up the stock motor.
