water temp gauge install

I ordered a SVE water temperature gauge, mechanical. where do i install this at? on my F150 4.6, I had it where the stock sending unit was in the intake manifold with no problems. could i use this spot on my mustang, or will the computer not get correct readings?

You should be fine there. The sending unit for the gauge is separate from the sensor that feeds temp data to the computer.

Okay, I was worried about that, I read something about limp mode? and I was worried about the fan not coming on if that sensor isn't hooked up.

Well more digging around shows its best to leave the factory sending unit alone. I don't have heat in my car, so my heater core is bypassed and both heater hoses are connected together with a coupler. could I just get a T fitting or something and use that location?

Drivers side of the block is a plug. You can put it there and it will give you a reading albeit a tad warmer as 7-8 don't have the flow of coolant like 3-4 do.
