new motor
I needed a new motor.
The used engine came with:
-short tube headers (very pleased with this.)
-an acufab throttle body, that is so big the connector is stretched over it from my cai.
The issue i'm having is when I start the car the rpms go from 500-1500 and I stall out if I don't wait.
Is it the computer readjusting, as the mechanic said?
Is it the throttle body?
Is it maybe I have something else in the engine messing with stuff?
My stock injectors need an upgrade?
Would a tune fix it?
I will not spend more money on things (at least for a few months), unless it is absolutely urgent.

Thanks. Definitely sounds like its related to the IAC, so maybe the computer does need time to adjust or be tuned?
The mechanic kept my original throttle body, just incase I had issues with this one. Naturally I want to keep the better tb.
I'm assuming DTC is just traction control, if so then whatever the stock traction control is, is what my car has.
Engine is 4.6l 2v, from an 01 gt (auto) and it replaced an 01 gt engine. I know the engine is from a different plant (at least the block or heads or whatever) than my original one, (as the mechanic told me) but not sure which one, and honestly I don't even remember where my original engine was from as I've given up long ago spending money on this car.

As far as the computer is concerned there isnt any difference. The flywheel, clutch, are different and some other subtle things but nothing to effect your issue, at least not that I am aware of.
