I mean 2v 4.6l usually go for around $1500 give or take so you're probably a lil too low.

But as far as the 99-04 mustangs they are pretty easy I took my whole engine out my car in my driveway. I was 17 at the time. I'm now 18 and sometime this year I'll be putting another one in. Its actually not hard in those cars. Everything just plugs in.

Oh labor, I'm not sure. But I would say $1000 is a little too high. to me its not very hard to take out at least the hardest thing to do would probably lining the engine back up with the trans but I haven't done that yet. Another hard part was taking the passenger side exhaust from the header it was hard to get to and the bolts are usually rusted.

My exhaust is freshly changed. Evacuating the ac and coolant is the hard part..to me 500 sounds closer to me.

Its still one bolt on the exhaust. You can't use a regular socket and you can't use a deep it has to be in between the two or else it won't fit on right and you'll strip it.

But I just left my a/c compressor and power steering pump in the car. I just took it off the motor and left it there because nothing was wring with it. But the power steering pump took a little while to get off due to the position of one bolt right behind the pully. You need a ratchet wrench I had just bought a set which made it a lot easier without one you'll be there all day turning that bolt. You can get maybe a third of a turn every time you turn it so without a ratchet wrench it'll take a while.

I'm sure there are harder and easier engines to take out. But it was my first and over all i say it wasn't too hard.

If you have the time and you want to learn how to work on your own car then I'd say do it. I learned a lot from doing that. But then again I like working on cars you may not.

Lol well if you do find a place to do it. You could save yourself some money and maybe put it into the engine. Maybe a new rear end or something.
