Default Speedo gear swap

Gonna be swapping 3.73's into my car with the help of a friend with a lift. Wondering if anyone has any info or write up on doing the speedo gear swap. I've got the T-5 trans and from what I've heard the tail-shaft housing can be removed to swap the gears. The problem is I haven't heard if the trans has to be pulled or left in the car. Any info would be sweet!

Thanks guys!

I don't think there is a gear available that is sufficient to make that much of an adjustment, you have to go with speedcal or a tuner.

Hey,

Unfortunately you will need to take the trans out of the car in order to install a new speedometer drive gear. Attached here is an installation guide on how to do the complete install. If you are not already aware, to correct the speedometer, you will need a 7 tooth speedometer drive gear combined with a 21 tooth speedometer gear.

I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch with myself, or our customer service department. Good luck!
