Cobra (IRS) rear lower shock mount vs. GT mount
So, I recently ordered what was supposed to be a pair of Koni Sport shocks for the rear of my 2000 GT, but turns out they're for a Cobra. In case it turns out to be a PITA to exchange these shocks, I'm considering the possibility of using what I have. I notice the only real difference in mounting points is the lower mounting bracket: the GT bolt is too small (in diameter), and the Cobra shock mount is too wide to fit inside the GT mounting bracket (the center sleeve for the mounting bolt sticks out too far). It looks like the lower shock mount bracket just bolts on...so, would it be possible to swap for a Cobra lower shock mount? If so, does anyone know where I might find a Cobra mounting bracket? I assume no aftermarket companies make them, but maybe I could get one from Ford? I tried searching but all I found was information on coilover mounts. What other options might I have? Thanks in advance.

That's what everyone says, and it would make sense, but how different could it be? I've yet to see dyno charts comparing the two, or any information from Koni that says they're valved differently, so I'd question how different they really are. Suppose I'd have to contact Koni to find out for sure. If I can use these without permanent modifications, I want to, because 1) I may not be able to return them and 2) exchanging them would hold up my build for another few weeks, and there's an open track day at the end of the month I really want to go to.

Yes, the wheel rates are completely different IIRC. I contacted Koni and here's the response:
"The parts are different in a number of areas. The min and max lengths are different, as well as the valvings, and lower mounting points."
So, not compatible at all. Good news is the vendor I got them from is willing to exchange them.
