Default What Does This Wire Connect To?

I found this wire just hanging out in my trunk. Does anyone know what it is supposed to connect to? I'm wondering if it is some how connected to my mustang's current issue. Thanks.

And what is your car's "current issue"?

Only wiring I'm really aware of in the left rear corner of the car is that of the taillamp and the fuel pump inertia switch - your pic doesn't appear that it's for either of those. The trunk light and 3rd brakelight wiring also comes up out of that corner of the car.

My mustang's current issue is that when it is driven for a long time, the engine dies and if I wait like a half hour, it starts up like nothing happened. I already replaced the spark plugs, boots, coils, and fuel filter. The tail lights, trunk release, top brake light and trunk light all work fine. As far as I can tell the inertia is connected and functioning correctly.

Regarding the current issue thing... Purely a guess, but I would look into fuel pump as being a possible cause. Like, maybe it's shutting down due to overheating.

No idea on that wire though dude.

well, the mustang is working fine now as far as i can tell after the fuel pump. i was wondering, the speakers say mach, does the mach system include a amplifier and subwoofer? i'm assuming that is what the wires go to.
