Anyone know a thing or two about ECUs?

thanks for all the info everyone.
I ordered a BAMA tuner last night for $400 with PATS pre-disabled (they can code it to turn off PATS in their shop before they ship it). I am not going to buy an ECM because it may not need one- a tune may take care of it if something through it out of whack. If I do, I will most certainly find a used one for about $100 and re-tune. Its worth a shot...the BAMA tuner will hold up to 10 tunes.

the tuner will disable the PATS and may take care of everything...we don't know yet...at the very least, we can tune the car to the modifications we want and be able to retrieve more (and better) info than a simple code scanner. these new BAMA tuners can give you a TON of info that previous ones couldn't.
