Default buying gt

right now i have an 04 mustang v6 auto and I would be trading it on a 2002 red mustang gt auto. I have flowmasters on right now on my 6er but i love the exhaust on the GT.

The Gt has the SLP loudmouth exhuast with the SLP X pipe and a MAc cold air intake. It also has the 17 inch silver bullit wheels with brand new toyo tires.

I talked the dealership down from 20k to 17,455 and maybe more yet to come but what do you think would be a good price to settle at. The Gt has 24,000 miles on it ,very clean with the black leather with no cracks from wear in it. It was a trade in on a 06 eclipse V6 (260 HP) and a young 19 year old girl traded it in and I would imagine she never beat on it. HEr Bf is the one who told her to get that exhuast witch is my dream exhaust its so loud and muscley best GT i've evcer heard, has that cobra deep growl, amazing.

Good price to ask for?? manager called me back afte ri said i wouldnt pay 17455 for it and asked for a price i would pay so he could go to the owner with it. They really want to sell it before winter which is sweet, best time to buy...

Thanx for the posts for a new comer to the GT's

I think it's a little high. For just a little more I will sell you mine and you won't even have to mod it

I would gladely buy urs but I have to trade in mine to pay it off and you cant do that or I would be lookin privately instead of gettin rapped by a dealer. But you have to remember its a deal and they never sale cars for cheap think 16500 would be reasonable? over 2000 in mods like the wheels and echaust and **** looks pretty but i duno...I am deff gunna be a new gt owner in the next month if i dont buy this cuz i found another one its stock with 18,500 on it for 15875 electric blue my fav color but i wouldnt have the money to mod it cuz i am in college so i figured this modded one at a dealer is the best deal if i can talk em down. can you believe they wanted 20k at first wow.

I wouldn't pay more than 16k for it. There was an '02 GT where I live with I believe about 28-29k miles on it with some sort of catback and CAI, wheels, tint, leather, 5 speed for $15,999. It was in great shape, looked brand new in and out.... But it's your money 17K seems a bit much....

Remember one thing, when the dealer got the car they went by blue book, they won't pay for the performance parts, but when they sell it they will use it as a exuse to raise the price. I would go to the dealer and be like "I saw this car racing at the track almost every week (thats if you have a track in your area)" and just try to talk them down to 15, offer them 14 and see what they are willing to do, then if they can't just say you can only do 15, and don't have more then that.....they'll probably say 15,500.00 thats not too bad I guess.

Just get the NADA and KBB prices. Then find a medium. NADA is usually higher than kbb. I'd guess of the top of my head around 15k give or take 500 or so. Like they said, mods don't do anything for resale value. Also check to make sure all the tires are the same type. Thet could be some extra money if they are different.

I got my GT a year and a half ago with 24000 miles for 18K out the door, so 17.5K pre-taxes seems a little high to me. and I'm assuming the one you're looking at has the premium package and everything for that price.
