Hey all, a few years back I did the aluminum intake crossover swap and lo and behold today I sprung a new leak a little bit below the intake thermostat housing. I have a pic and it was spewing from the block I guess? Just wanna know what is needed for repair, thanks

is it coming from the thermostat housing? Is so, get a new o-ring and replace.

No it's right below it, see the white dried caked coolant right below the crossover housing, that's where a small stream is spraying out.

Well damn, took it to my mechanic and the intake is cracked again, jeez the oem replacement only lasted about 3.5 years. Lame.

My 2015 5.0 cant come soon enough, ha.

Are you buying the intake from Ford or are you buying the cheap knock offs?


The cheap knock offs seem to have issues.

It was an oem from late model restoration

Did you get the Ford Racing or the knock off?

It was the ford racing one. I was told originally when I bought it in 2010 only to buy the ford model and nothing else, so that's what I did.

its weird you are having issues with it. Are you over tightening the bolts?

Well from what I can recall when I installed it back in 2010 I installed everything to spec, who knows. It sucks but it happened, nothing else to do but put another one in. Within a year I should have a 2015 gt anyways, so as long as it lasts me until then I'm cool.
