Tire Fit
quick question, all of my tires are bald as hell and i just actually popped one yesturday in the front, its a 2004 GT w/ 245/45ZR17 's right now and i'm looking for a tire that's reasonably priced, works in both dry and wet/SNOWY conditions ( i live in Wisconsin ) so far i came across some Dunlop's 245/45VR17 XL, they say they'll fit on TireRack.com but i just wanted to see what you guys thought first, they are basicly as cheap as i think i'll find and i need to order something QUICK so any response is greatly appreciated!

RE: Tire Fit
the issue is wanting a tire that does all and is not expensive. you get what you pay for. most tires that will work well in the snow will not work so well in the dry. i would buy a dry/wet tire and limit snow driving as much as possible. i love my BFG KDW's.

I bought a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX in 275/40/17 for my 04 GT. They seem great to me so far. They are an all season tire and have worked great in rain. I've seen feedback in places from people that used them in the snow as well, but I live in AZ and haven't tested that yet. Here's a link at tire rack for them. Kumho Ecsta ASX

Is what you should do is buy some cheap V-6 rims with 225s on them for the snow and buy 275 for your GT rims in the summer, when it comes to snow you want a narrow tall tire.

No, I live in southern AZ.(Sierra Vista) It's basically the other side of the mountains from Mexico. I think that it's actually 16 miles as the crow flys. We're at 4800-5100' in elevation depending on where you are in town. The weather is crazy here since we get the monsoons in the summer. I heard they got a light dusting of snow last winter, but I didn't see it. Thirty minutes away they get a little several times a year.
I would think that going to a completely different tire/rim combo would be your best bet as well. With the exception of the high fender gap, these weren't meant to be 4X4s. Maybe someone in your area can chime in and tell you what they have. I'll keep looking since I'll probably be heading to Germany next year and I'll need some different tires as well.

I got those tires too, they're great tires. I've put about 600 miles on them so far, very comfortable, awesome in the rain, plenty of traction, and I'm going to leave two on the front for winter. That or I'm buying V6 rims and getting snows.
