f'cked clutch. what is problem?
if i go about 5,000 rpms and try to shift it now, the clutch pedal will make a breaking sound and stay stuck to the floor. all i have to do is pull it back up with my foot and all is fine again. it feels the same and shifts the same at all other rpm's, like nothing is wrong. the guy told me that it still has the plastic quadrant in it and it had an aftermarket clutch. he said that it is probably the plastic quadrant and cable that is all messed up and said we'd go that route in replacing that and see if that solves the problem. if that doesn't worket, he said he'd go with a centerforce dual-friction clutch. do you guys think it is the plastic quadrant and cable being messed up or something else? I was thinking maybe the pressure plate or that i just need a whole new clutch. what do you all think?

the quadrant in my old 5.0 made that kind of sound when it broke. Broke at startup, though. My clutch pedal was dead. If I raised it up myself it would just fall back.

STAY AWAY FROM THE CENTERFORCE!!! Ok sorry bout that but getting that clutch was a big mistake. My friend has a king cobra and it is soo much better. You might want to get a spec 2 or spec 3. Don't get centerforce though.

spec 3 clutch is a bitch during break in period, but right now mine is fine. still a little chatter though. ive heard from many with spec clutches that its either hit or miss with them. king cobra has a good reputation.

I had the CenterForce dual friction clutch in my last car and it was fantastic. Installed it at 91K and it was like having a new car. When I bought the car, I could spin tires in first and chip second. At 91K, I could chip third. Never had an issue with the clutch whatsoever. My buddy has been racing Mustangs for 15+ years and still likes the CF dual friction, too.
Sounds like the quadrant. Steeda makes an aluminum one, or you can buy the whole kit with cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster.
