99 Mustang GT Convertible top goes up, but not down.
To add on that, I assumed it didn't work at all when I purchased the vehicle, but didn't want to manually lift the top one night and tried to use the switch and it flew right up with not a problem. I then tried to put it down, but it wouldn't go. When I push the switch to make it go down I hear a click in the back/trunk area so I know there is a command being sent. I'm hoping this is a simple fix because I would assume going up would be harder. Someone said it might be a relay? any help?

I had the same problem. The hydraulic lifts are most likely leaking and need to be replaced. There is one on each side, behind the plastic shells that are next to back seat. The ones I bought came with pretty easy instructions, it's not too hard to do

I'm currently having this exact issue. I replaced both hydraulic arms with no luck, then changed the pump, no luck. Goes up perfectly fine. But not down.
Is there anything else to try? I have purged the system of air and filled it with dextron III. I see no active leaks in the lines.
Is there any kind.of cables or lines that may be disconnected?

Have you gotten any resolution to your problem?
I followed some suggestions by the forum members here and got mone squared away yesterday.
First make sure there are no leaks and you have filled your pump.
Second make sure the lines are connected to the right ends of the cylinder.
Third make sure there are no kinks in your lines.
I did all that. Replaced my pump and both cylinders because I had a leak somewhere. after I replaced everything I still had issues with it going either direction.
So I removed the top ends of each cylinder from top. Pushed my button and both arms went up. So I pulled the plug and started cycling the system to make sure I had no air at all. Went through a quart of fluid making sure. Well on one of my lat cycles I held the button down after it reached the top of the arm position and one of the rods shot out. It wasn't screwed into the bottom plate inside the cylinder. I replaced it with one more I had and the top works perfectly now. So long story short... make sure your cylinder arms are screwed in and able push and pull.
I was pulling my hair out!!! Thanks for the suggestions guys.
