Default 01 GT REAR BRAKE LEAK

hey guys, im at a loss and need some help. was driving home and the brake light came on. found the driver side rear to be leaking. im pretty sure it was coming from where the hose attaches to the caliper. heres what ive tried so far.

- replace copper washers... still leaks
- replace banjo bolt....still leaks
- replace brake hose....still leaks
- replace whole caliper.....STILL LEAKS

i have replaced everything i can think of and it still leaks PLEASE HELP

Can you have someone press the brakes while you have the wheel off to see exactly where it is leaking? Make sure to use a paper towel to wipe off all of the remaining fluid before you try and see it happen. And use some glasses because if it builds enough pressure and finds a leak it can squirt out and brake fluid and human eyes dont play well together.

When you replaced the hose end of the line, did you get a complete line with new fittings on the ends?

That's what I did and I'm about 95% sure it is leaking from between the caliper and the bottom of the square block on the line. Whether it's from under or over the bottom washer I'm unsure. You'd think based on that it'd be a simple washer swap but I've tried 3 or 4 sets of washers with no luck

Hmmm... i wonder if somehow that block has warped.. or has a hairline crack that is unseen? If it is possible to swap that block to the other side, try it and see if it doesnt start to leak on the opposite side

You are putting one washer between the block and the caliper, and the other between the block and the banjo bolt, right?

You have also removed all of the old washers, correct? They like to stick to parts.

I already tried a whole new line. It leaks with both the old and new. I also tried old and new banjo bolts. Neither work on the driver side but both work fine on the pass side

Right, but have you made sure, each and every time, that both of the washers got replaced? There is one between the block and caliper, and another between the block and banjo bolt.
If they are not both in place, or if an extra washer is left in there by sticking to the banjo bolt, either side of the block, or caliper, it will leak. The banjo bolts also require quite a bit of torque to deform the copper washers, sealing them.

Also, are you sure you are getting the orientation of the block on the caliper correct? I don't know about the Mustang, but on some calipers, you can fit the block on in the wrong orientation and it will leak.

Yup always 2 washers used. (One on each side of block) and always oriented in stock location

Have you replaced either block?
