Low oil light

Default Low oil light
For about 2 years now.. I have noticed that after 1k miles after an oil change, the low oil light shows up. Doesn't really bother me but.. Im wondering if this means that the motor is burning oil? I use motorcraft 5w-30 and motorcraft filter fl-820s. I actually used full synthetic once and the light never came on. Anyone know if its just the motor burning oil?

Does your dipstick read low when the light comes on? If so your either leaking it or burning it.

If not then it could be a faulty oil level sensor.

I didn't realize that mustangs had a low oil level light. I know my 2000 doesn't

In 96 they did.

In fact I believe from 84-96 they used a low oil level sensor.
