Default 98 gt slight knock became serious overnight.

so i purchased this mustang about 2 weeks ago, and i noticed a slight tick, with a few drives this tick became slightly worse so i got concerned ran to advanced, had the codes pulled expected the o2 sensor because it has straight pipes, but pulled a P0301 misfire cylinder #1 and what i thought was an accessory knock became a realization that its more serious when i started the car today it was a very loud metallic sounding knock coming from the passenger side, i immediately shut the car off when i heard this. i pulled the serp belt and couldn't budge the harmonic balancer so i think i can eliminate the balancer as the issue. i'm starting to think its internal...but where im at a total loss any help much appreciated.

sucker sounds like its about to sling a rod or something, anyways got it at my reliable mechanics house, definitely an internal issue i also have him set up with a used motor out of a 99 (90k miles) with PI heads and all those goodies, and everything else needed for the swap. should have her back in a few days ill keep this updated.

Surprised nobody responded to your thread. Glad you got it taken care of though. Any future plans for her?

yeah I'm doing some basic appearance upgrades right now then on to some restoration like the driver side window seal and the passenger window motor needs to be replaced nothing too serious. i just ordered a tire set from American Muscle 1995 Cobra R Style Black Wheel & Sumitomo Tire Kit 17x9s.
next is some minor body work behind the driver door and then repainting. after buying and driving this car, i don't want anything but a mustang.

U sure it didn't blow the plug threads out on that cylinder, when that happens it makes some funky noise.
