Do people still sell these? Where can I find a quality piece, perferable not plastic if that makes a difference, and how are there attached anyways, 3M tape?

Yes they still sell then, they come in aluminum and plastic, you can find them online, and yes, 3m or any permanent adhesive around the edges cleanly!! Along with the brackets built in or it comes with to mount them on.
